Cricut Design Space can be an awesome tool for crafters of nearly all experience levels. It is FREE to use. You do NOT need an access subscription in order to use your machine.

If you’re thinking about paying for Access- here is a list of Pros and Cons for various types of crafters.

Cricut Users who craft for fun:

PROS: The Cricut Access Subscription is a great choice for hobbyists, offering plenty of benefits that make crafting more fun. With over 200,000 images, fonts, and projects, you’ll never run out of creative ideas, all without needing to search for individual designs. You also get a 10% discount on licensed content and materials, making it easier and cheaper to experiment with new projects. The subscription unlocks premium tools and features, so you can explore intricate designs without extra costs. Plus, you’ll get early access to fresh content, helping you stay on top of trends. Everything is conveniently integrated into Cricut Design Space, so there's no need to buy or learn other design software. Overall, Cricut Access makes crafting simpler, more creative, and budget-friendly.

CONS: For casual crafters, the Cricut Access Subscription might not be worth the cost. Many hobbyists don’t need access to the entire library of 200,000+ images, fonts, and projects, especially if they focus on a few personalized designs. Free options or individual purchases might be enough for their needs. Also, if you only craft occasionally, the recurring cost of a subscription can add up, making it less cost-effective. Instead of paying for unlimited access, casual users may prefer to buy specific designs when needed or create their own, enjoying their hobby without the pressure of a subscription. Overall, the cost and large collection might not be necessary for light, occasional crafting.

Cricut Users who craft for Business:

PROS:

The Cricut Access Subscription is valuable for business users, offering key benefits that make it worth the investment. It provides access to over 200,000 images, fonts, and ready-made projects, saving time and money on sourcing designs and allowing businesses to cater to diverse customer preferences. Subscribers also receive discounts on licensed content and Cricut products, reducing material costs and boosting profits. Additionally, the subscription unlocks premium features like advanced cutting tools, improving productivity and product quality. Early access to new content gives businesses a competitive edge by offering trendy designs ahead of non-subscribers. With everything centralized in Cricut Design Space, it simplifies workflows and reduces the need for extra software.

CONS:

The Cricut Access Subscription might not be ideal for business users due to its recurring cost and lack of exclusivity. For small businesses, the subscription fees can add up, especially when similar designs can be found for free or bought individually. Additionally, the designs are not exclusive, meaning competitors could be using the same ones, making it harder to stand out. Investing in unique designs or specialized software could be a better option for businesses that prioritize originality and cost-efficiency. Overall, Cricut Access may not offer enough value for businesses focused on staying unique and controlling costs.

I craft for fun, and I have Access for 3 reasons.

  1. The tools available for Access subscribers only saves me time. Most of my projects don’t have a lot of planning- its because a kid needs a tshirt, or a birthday card, or other handmade gift. I don’t want to spend a ton of time bouncing between several tools when I can just pay my annual fee and have Access.

  2. The discounts on supplies, machines, ect

  3. The FREE stuff that’s included often inspires me. Free projects update regularly and it gets my creative juices flowing!
