Here’s just a few tips to keep your Cricut cutting machine working like the well oiled machine it needs to be!

CLEANING your MACHINE:

ALWAYS unplug your machine FIRST.

NEVER use water. You can dust the outside of your machine with a dry microfiber cloth. Cricut recommends spraying a dust-free cloth with glass cleaner and using that to wipe it down. DO NOT wipe off the grease inside- its necessary for machine operation. If the inside of your machine gets full of adhesive, glitter and other things from your projects, and they can gum up your machine making it not cut accurately. Use a q-tip to remove them.

Let’s talk about some other things that can help keep your craft space running smoothly!

CLEAN or REPLACE your mats!

Cutting mats can lose their stickiness over time as they accumulate debris like paper scraps, vinyl pieces, and dust. Cleaning your mats regularly with a lint roller, gentle soap, and water can help restore their stickiness and prolong their lifespan. Let them air dry completely before use. While cleaning them is ideal- sometimes they just wear out. You can purchase them just about anywhere- but I like these from Amazon.

Replace your Blades!

A dull blade can cause inaccurate cuts and damage your materials. Depending on how often you use your Cricut, you’ll need to replace the blade every few months (or sooner for heavy use). Keep a few extra blades on hand and change them when you notice frayed edges or incomplete cuts. I grab this pack from Amazon.

COVER your CRICUT!

When your Cricut isn’t in use, its important to keep it covered to keep it free from dust, pet hair, and more! I like this case- it fits most Explore and Maker series Cricut machines.

Cricut Rollers Wear out and ARE replaceable!

This is especially handy to know if your Cricut Machine is out of warranty. Replacements are available on amazon, and they are fairy easy to replace!
