When running a craft-based business, first impressions are everything. A key element to standing out in a crowded market is having great listing photos that accurately reflect your products and appeal to your target audience. Investing in high-quality photos and a strong brand will make your business stand out and help attract more customers. Here are some tips to help you achieve that:

Good Lighting: Natural light is your best friend. Soft, diffused light will highlight your product's details without creating harsh shadows. If you can't access natural light, consider using a lightbox or photography lights. You don’t need a huge set up, you just need good, natural light to showcase your work as its meant to be seen!

Multiple Angles: Show off your product from different perspectives. Highlight textures, colors, and unique features. Include close-ups and styled shots in context to help customers visualize your product in their life.

Declutter: A clean, simple background keeps the focus on your product. Use neutral tones that compliment, rather than compete with, your craft.

While photographing your actual product is ideal, using digital mockups can be a major time-saver. Mockups allow you to showcase your products in a variety of settings without spending hours staging and taking new photos. They are particularly useful for testing new designs or for businesses with customizable products.

But beyond beautiful photos, your brand needs to be visually cohesive. This is where branding comes in. Your logo, color palette, and fonts should be consistent across all platforms, from your website to your social media. Branding creates recognition and helps build trust with potential customers.

If this seems overwhelming, consider hiring a professional to create your brand kit. A well-designed kit includes everything from a logo to colorways, fonts, and social media templates, making your business visually appealing and recognizable. With a professional's touch, you’ll have all the tools you need to ensure every customer experience aligns with your brand’s personality and values. I know a gal 😉 Contact me!
