That time I gave inappropriate gifts to my inlaws, and how it went.

Just before the holidays I realized we had waited too long for good ole prime delivery for a gift for my in-laws. I asked him what he purchased for his parents only for him to shrug his shoulders and say “I forgot”. This was just a couple of days before its time to exchange gifts. He scrambles on amazon, comes up with a couple of t-shirts, but they won’t be delivered in time.

Enter the cricut, my craft room, and some cusswords.

I made some shirts for them. They like to camp- and have a motorhome. I took some of the jokes I’d seen about camping and slapped a couple on the shirts with a custom and retro style design that I was actually quite proud of. I got them weeded, pressed, and wrapped in record time. The following day it was time to exchange gifts, and I was worried about how they would be received by them. You see, one of the jokes was snarky, and the other one was VERY snarky.

I realized that despite knowing them for over a decade, that these jokes might not be appreciated. I watched them unwrap them nervously, and giggled a bit as they read their shirts. Hers said “Sorry for what I said while we were parking the camper”. His said “I love to pull in, I hate pulling out.” Funny, right?!

She loved it. He seemed slightly entertained. Either way, at least they had SOMETHING to open, I got to use my cricut, and all’s well that ends well.
